Considering it looks like crap in 99% of the pictures, I would hope that no one would pay for frizzy hair like that! We pretty much walk all day until we find a good place to take the photos and then I attempt to look like a human before we snap a few shots...sans make-up and everything. After uploading the photos from the camera, we hit "Feelin' Lucky" in Picasa and call it a day.

Ya gotta love tourist traps, whether it's a world wonder or not. Glad you got out and went somewhere civilized. It was nice to hear your voice this morning. I miss you guys even if you are clothing and stuff collectors and slobs. Love,Dad

THIS IS AWESOME. Look at it this way, you had discomfort for a couple days, but a story you're never going to forget the rest of your lives. Love it.

I'm sorry that Cairo was such a disaster! Should you ever decide to give it a second chance I recommend hiring a car for all your transportation needs. I was able to get to Giza and Saqqara quite easily with a personal guide as he greatly reduced the amount of hassles I had to withstand. I found the pyramids at Giza kind of disappointed since they appear to be plopped into a suburb thanks to urban sprawl. I saw them from atop a camel, though, which was actually really enjoyable as it meant getting to avoid the light show and throngs of people. If you don't like the chaos of Cairo you may really enjoy hanging out in Dahab on the Sinai Peninsula - a laid back beach town near Mount Sinai. Alot of folks start in Dahab before hopping to Petra, Jordan, and Israel. The ruins at Luxor and Abu Simbel in the south of the country are also lovely and more spectacular than the pyramids. I certainly hope Rome brightens your spirits.
