Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

We tried to compile a list of the most frequently asked questions (all questions have actually been asked, of course) and provide a few more answers if you're still confused. If you have an additional question or there's something we're completely missing, please {email us} and we'll answer it and toss it up here.

Q: So wait, you're getting married around the world, but I'm invited to a reception near Philly... I'm confused, where are you actually getting married?
A: Great question. Even though we're flying around the world with a tux and a dress and taking photos in front of every world wonder, we are actually, technically getting married in Pennsylvania, {Quaker style}. Our ceremony on June 27th will represent our official union and then we'll have an awesome party afterward. Our ceremony location has not yet been decided but it will likely be a pretty outdoor area nearby and be a relatively short, untraditional event.

Q: I'm from out of town and traveling in, what hotel should I stay in?
A: Well, that depends on what you want to do. If you want to stay the weekend in Philly and see the city, we recommend staying downtown in either the {Westin} or the {Marriott} (we've stayed in both and they are very nice). It's about a 30-minute, $40-50 cab ride (or $6 train ride) to our reception site from the city. If you'd rather just stay over Saturday night and want something very close, the {Radnor Hotel} is walking (or stumbling) distance away - right across the parking lot - and is definitely your best option.

Q: Should I stay the weekend in Philly? What is there to do?
A:Philly is a great city (well... most of it). To get the true Philadelphia experience (for a first-timer) we recommend running up the {Art Museum} steps {Rocky} style, grabbing a {cheesesteak} from {Pat's} or {Geno's} then taking a stroll through {Old City} and along {Penn's Landing}. If that's not enough for you, try {here}.

Q: I'm afraid of the internet, what if I don't want to RSVP online?
A: Don't be afraid, it'll be fine, we promise. Besides, "the internet is so future." If you have any questions, you can always send us an {email} or if you really want to, send us a letter with all of the information from the {RSVP} to the return address on your Save the Date.

Q: Hey why wasn't [insert name here] invited to {The Celebration}?
A: Unfortunately we come from very large families (Katie's Dad is one of ten kids and Mike was recently adopted by Brad and Angelina along with the entire country of Lesotho) and as a result we were forced to limit the size of our celebration to close friends and family members over the age of 18.

Q: I met this hot guy/girl at the club last night, can I bring him/her as my date?
A: While we are sure that this person is super fun after a few drinks, we ask that you bring only your significant other as a guest since space is extremely limited at {The Celebration} venue (please refer to your Save The Date envelope just to be sure). If you are still confused, please feel free to {email us}.

Q: Where are you registered? I can't find gift registries anywhere.
A: Since we'll be moving (likely far, far away) in the next year or so and we'd prefer experiences to things anyway, we request that you stay away from large, {home-based gifts}.

Q: I don't really like Asian food, is there anything else I can eat?
A: Though it's not steak and french fries, we believe that most everyone will really enjoy {Susanna Foo}. Her food is modern Asian-fusion and there are no flavors or foods that you won't find in many contemporary American restaurants. Keep an open mind, we're sure you'll love it! If you're still feeling a bit concerned, we've added chicken as an entrée selection just for you.

Q: So yeah, you're getting married or something... what kind of alcohol will be there?
A: If you're asking this question, don't worry, we know who you are and you'll be taken care of. For everyone else there will be beer and wine.

Q: Katie and Mike, where do you guys live anyway?
A: We ask ourselves this question pretty frequently too. If you're looking for a physical address, please use the return address on our Save the Date.

Q: What was that awesome song that was playing on your website intro page?
A: That's "Won't Stop" by OneRepublic. They're our best friends... well... not really...

Q: Man you guys are really cool... how can I be as awesome as you?
A: Well it's not easy! This is actually our most commonly asked question, but there's just not enough room on this webpage to give you the answer. In short, all you really need to do is work hard, stay in school and be {really, really ridiculously good-looking}.
